Lake Havasu has always been a favorite area to feature in our television productions. We shot one episode of our first season (under The Real Desert with Steve Brown) at Lake Havasu City (unfortunately unavailable online due to a disagreement with my first production company, now defunct), and then returned for two episodes of Southwest Stories in our second season. Our first took us on The Road to Havasu, and was great fun, followed by this episode where we take in the fantastic Havasu Balloon Fest and Buses at the Bridge, along with other Havasu fun.
We've had great times there, and we've met wonderful people out at Lake Havasu. One, is Captain Kenny Samp, who runs Sunset Charter & Tour Co., a great boat touring company. I highly reccommend joining him on his prize boat, Serenity Now, for a sunset cruise as part of your Havasu experience. Kenny's a true desert treasure and you'll be able to catch him in this episode. I bet you've never sailed up to a desert bighorn sheep before.
